Staff Spotlight: Stephanie Herrington

Stephanie Herrington began her time at TOC Logistics International over 12 years ago. The seasoned veteran began working in our freight management team in 2005, and specifically worked with domestic shipments. Throughout her time at TOC, Stephanie has held a variety of positions, but has remained within the international team since 2006. Today, Stephanie serves as our operation supervisor. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys staying busy with her seven-year-old son and four dogs. In her spare time she enjoys being outside, reading, working out, and volunteering.

What is your role and responsibilities at TOC?

I’m one of TOC’s operations supervisors. I help manage our operations team, which is currently made of 16 members.  I’m the first escalation point on the operations team, and my role is to assist with any issues that may arise throughout the day or night. I know the ‘ins and outs’ of our accounts, so that I can jump in and help at any point in time. I help coach our team members with any questions, compile audits, and manage a small amount of my own shipments, as well.

What is your favorite part about working at TOC?

I get to work with and talk to people from all over the world everyday. Not everyone can say that. Even my coworkers within TOC’s headquarters are made up of people from nine different countries! It’s very interesting to hear all of the different languages spoken throughout the day and to learn about different cultures. TOC has a very diverse group of people, and I like that a lot.

How do you see the future of logistics and supply chain changing?

It feels like logistics and supply chains are changing every day. Companies are always trying to save money and run a leaner environment than they did the day before… This puts enormous pressure on everyone involved in the process to make sure that our clients are the most efficient as possible.

How do you see TOC continuing to change and evolve as the industry changes?

TOC will continue to invest in our employees and in technology. We plan on staying ahead of the game, and thinking of creative solutions. Both of these will help TOC be the best we can possibly be.

What do you think the most important thing is for your clients to know about yourself or TOC?

TOC is made up of a great group of people, and we have great leadership. I think our quality of work proves that we care about every single outcome of a shipment. Logistics isn’t for the faint of heart and we do put our blood, sweat, and tears into our work.

What sets TOC apart from other logistics companies in your opinion?

At TOC, we really foster the concept of teamwork. All departments truly work together as a team. We all want what’s best for our clients, at the end of the day. Our staff picks up the phone, answers emails, brainstorms solutions, and provides top notch customer service. I think that by us being available to our clients, it helps set us apart from the rest.
