You’re probably wondering, what does the TOC in TOC Logistics International stand for? Even our employees ask that question. There are a few inner-office tales on the origin of the name. But while we all have our different stories about how we arrived at TOC, one thing is for certain, what we do for our clients is crystal clear.
We firmly believe that there is no one universal solution. We are committed to conducting thorough analysis and providing innovative logistics solutions that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. In doing so, we tailor each and every client solution to reflect their business environment. As a company, we are committed to being visionaries: seeing the big picture in each unique supply chain, searching for solutions to issues that maybe our clients didn’t even see on their own. How did we get started? We began in 2005 as an internal department at a large domestic freight company, focused on international supply chain solutions. Our president and CEO, Gary Cardenas, a 30-year veteran of the logistics industry, worked for the company and decided to spin the department out as TOC Logistics International in 2010. Under his leadership, we incorporated in the same year, to grow customer base in the global supply chain business. Having been created to be different than the competition, TOC has grown quickly since, becoming a full-fledged Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) and independent air carrier – enhancing our value and ability to manage the entire global supply chain. As we like to say around here, our roots are in transparency, optimization and collaboration.
What services do we provide? We are a third-party logistics provider and if you need something to be shipped, we can handle it. Whether your company is large or small, located in Mexico or Germany, China or India, the United States or Brazil, we can get your products from point A to point B (or C or D). We provide international logistics services and we maintain our global logistics certifications to ensure we provide our clients with optimal services. At TOC, we firmly believe in efficiency—so much so that we reduce our clients shipping costs and shipping timelines between 10-30%. We recognize that in certain situations, time critical shipments are necessary. We provide air expedites when needed to ensure our clients get their products in time. So, what sets us apart? Well, it’s simple. We are client-focused. That’s been our goal since we were first established 10 years ago. For us here at TOC, it’s always been about knowing the clients we work with and understanding their company culture. We do this so we can best work within the client’s environment we are dealing with. When assisting our clients, we implement our analysis-driven approach in four steps: by identifying with our clients, collaborating with them, implementing our unique solutions and measuring our success through customer feedback and analytics.
Where are we going? We are expanding! Currently, TOC’s global headquarters is in Indianapolis, IN, and has offices in Mexico and other partner offices around the world. Our employee count has almost doubled in the last year to provide additional services for our clients, ensuring that their service experience with us is top-notch. We are looking forward to this next year as we continue to expand our services to meet our clients’ needs.
