If you haven’t noticed by now, we’re pretty darn proud of our company culture. It’s something we put a lot of time and energy into getting right. After all, we want our team members to look forward to coming into work each day.
During such a dynamic time for the industry, we’ve been hiring almost constantly. And that’s made us curious, so we decided to ask our team why they choose to work at TOC Logistics. Here are some of their answers.
Working as a Team
When we asked Operations Supervisor LaMona Amadou the best thing about TOC’s team, we got an answer right away.
“What I like about TOC is the cultural atmosphere,” LaMona said. “TOC is very much a team in all aspects of what I have come to know.”
Mariana Herrera, Global Business Development, offers a unique perspective, as a long-time TOC team member who started off on the other side of the table.
“I was TOC’s vendor for many, many years, so I knew how they worked and viewed their customers,” she said. “I liked their philosophy, and I liked the approach they took. When I first got hired at TOC Logistics, I felt like I was coming into a family instead of just an organization.”
The Power of Positive Relationships
We believe that relationships form the core of everything we do, from the way we interact with our customers and vendors to how we act in the office. The better the relationship, the better the outcome. It’s part of why our team members care so much about each other.
“The people here are always assisting you in your day-to-day workload, and if they don’t know the answer, there is always someone who does,” said LaMona. “I also like that everything is split up into different departments, where you are not bogged down doing it all, like at other forwarders.”
“I was in culture shock for a while,” said Brigitte O’Neill, Director of U.S. Customs Brokerage and Compliance. “Once you get here, you see how much everybody cares about the people here and all of the different things they do for the staff. There’s an Open Door Policy, and we all embrace it.”
Mariana’s been around for a while, and she’s glad so many other team members have stuck with TOC. “I love how other employees I’ve developed relationships with are still here years later. I think that speaks volumes for an organization.”
